New Berlin Eisenhower (7-1, 6-1) at Brown Deer (7-1, 6-1)

The battle for the Woodland-Black Division is set for Wednesday night as Eisenhower travels to Brown Deer for a showdown. The winner is presented with the Woodland-Black Division title while the loser could hurt their seed for the upcoming playoffs.

Brown Deer's run-based offense will be tested against an Eisenhower defense that is holding their opponents to 12 PPG. In Brown Deer's seven wins this season they have scored at least 35 points, but were held to a season-low 7 points agasint Pewaukee. So the question is asked, which Brown Deer team will show up? The Lions have held the best rushers in Conference to season-lows each time they were paired up with a top back.

RB Chris Smith for the Falcons comes into this week with a division best 1273 yards and 19 total touchdowns, all as a junior. Smith continues to improve on all aspects of his game and it is scary to think what he will be able to do as a senior next season. Although QB Brett Younbeck does not have the most touchdowns in conference, with 10, he has only thrown four interceptions on the year. He has 920 yards this season, also as a junior. Their lead receiver is WR Sean Andryauskus who has 360 yards and four touchdowns.

The Lions have been able to mix up their run and pass game this season and that has led to their great success. By balancing out their offensive scheme it leaves defenses on their toes and not able to focus on one particular part of the Lions' offense. RB Tyler Faber remains as a top back in the Woodland Conference with 782 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground this season. WR Ian McKechnie has also showed why he is one of the best in the Woodland this year with 542 yards and 11 touchdowns. McKechnie also shows his versatility as a player running the ball for 117 yards on 20 carries with two scores on the year.

On paper these two teams matchup well, but when it comes to the talent level Eisenhower is just too much for the Falcons. Eisenhower should come up with a win and the Woodland-Black division title at the end of this one. They will have all of the momentum heading to the playoffs.

Prediction: Eisenhower 35, Brown Deer 17

Whitnall (6-1, 7-1) at Pewaukee (8-0, 7-0)

Whitnall goes on the road to try and give Pewaukee their only loss of the season. Beating the Pirates the season has been easier said than done. Pewaukee is holding their opponents to 8 PPG on average this season, including four shutouts. Whitnall is averaging 30 PPG this season so the will of Pewaukee's defense and Whitnall's offense will be tested in this matchup. RB Sean Graham leads the Woodland Conference with 1235 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns this season, and for Whitnall to win he will have to have another big game. QB Joel Stave also leads all quarterbacks in the Woodland Conference with 1822 yards. Stave has thrown 13 touchdowns on the season with only two interceptions completing 61% of his passes. Although being a very talented team this season, the Pirates have been too dominate this season in all aspects for them to let this game slip away and ruin their perfect regular season.

Pewaukee somehow improves every week, which is bad news for Whitnall. Pewaukee has averaged 42 PPG on the year, which leads their division. Pewaukee's run game continues to lead the way on offense having 32 of their 40 total offensive touchdowns coming on the ground. RB Bryan Spakowicz leads the rushing attack with 712 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has not played in the last two games due to an injury he sustained, but he should be ready for this big matchup. The passing game for the Pirates this season has been their weak link in their offense. QB Patrick Bacon has thrown six touchdowns but also thrown four interceptions this year with 700 yards. Not having Spakowicz in the lineup will hurt Pewaukee's chances of winning, but other RB Derek Watt has stepped up in his loss having 12 total touchdowns on the year.

Prediction: Pewaukee 38, Whitnall 21

Greendale (6-2, 5-2) at Cudahy (1-7, 1-6)

Greendale ruined Wauwatosa West's chances of making the playoffs last week and now looks to keep the Packers at only one win in the 2009 season. Greendale leans on their run game for most of their offensive support. RB Luke Drumel leads with 924 yards on 138 carries and 10 touchdowns this season. Passing has been a cause for concern all year throwing for seven total touchdowns and 10 interceptions as a team. They will not need much passing against Cudahy, but when they get into the playoffs they will need to improve on passing if they wish to stay around throughout the playoffs.

Cudahy, for the first time all season, is coming off a win and has some momentum heading into this week's matchup. Cudahy has not looked too good this season, but to their credit they are a relatively young team. Cudahy is allowing 27 PPG on defense, which is not the worst in conference and if they are able to keep it a low scoring game they may have a chance with an upset. RB Curtis Danecki leads the Cudahy offense with 658 yards and four touchdowns this season.

Prediction: Greendale 35, Cudahy 7

Greenfield (0-8, 0-7) at New Berlin West (4-4, 4-3)

Greenfield remains the only winless team in the Woodland Conference this season. Greenfield is allowing 41 PPG which can be credited to their 0-8 record. The offense for Greenfield has been balanced for the most part, having six rushing touchdowns and eight passing, but only 14 touchdowns all year is a recipe for not a lot of points on the year. QB Jason Mermolia has thrown for 1087 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the Hawks' offense this season. Three running backs for Greenfield have scored two touchdowns. If Greenfield wants to pick up their only win on the season they will need to force the Vikings to pass and look to win the turnover battle.

New Berlin West's playoff hopes depend on if they can pick up a win over Greenfield. With a win over Greenfield the Vikings will have an above .500 record, which usually means headed to the playoffs. If they lose they will not have a valid case for a playoff team. RB Steve Vogl leads the Viking offense with 868 yards and 13 touchdowns. QB Dom Bledsoe has the yardage, with 1206 and 10 touchdowns, for a good quarterback but his seven interceptions bring up some red flags. He will need to work on reducing his interception number to make the Vikings a playoff contender.

Prediction: New Berlin West 31, Greenfield 7

South Milwaukee (4-4, 3-4) at Thomas Moore (2-6, 2-5)

South Milwaukee is on the bubble for making the playoffs this season and if they want any chance of reaching the playoffs, beating the Cavaliers is a must. Their offense is led by QB Sam Oilden who has posed as a multi-threat quarterback for defenses. Oilden has thrown for 1063 yards with 10 touchdowns and rushed for 525 yards leading to eight touchdowns. RB Luke Maldonado has improved as of late, rushing for 613 yards with eight touchdowns. Maldonado has also caught four touchdowns passes this season. The Rockets should not have problems with Thomas Moore and should get above to .500 mark on the season, making them a good candidate for the playoffs this year.

Thomas Moore heads into this week playing for pride and looking to end on a strong note. The Cavaliers have struggled all season getting to ball in the end zone, only having eight offensive touchdowns all year. Part of their struggle this season has been passing the ball. As a team the Cavaliers have thrown only two touchdowns all season and have thrown 11 interceptions as a team. Their success this season has come from the ground, mainly from RB Fraser Ferentz. Ferentz has rushed for 608 yards and three scores this season. Thomas Moore will have to play a great game so stay with South Milwaukee.

Prediction: South Milwaukee 35, Thomas Moore 6

Wauwatosa West (3-5, 2-5) at Saint Francis (1-7, 0-7)

Saint Francis has had an off year filled with many hardships. They opened their season with a win over Shorewood/Messmer, but have been on a losing streak ever since. The Cavaliers are a young team and will have a few starters returning to play next season. Including RB Keyon Lawson who has rushed for 805 yards and three touchdowns this season. Their leader in touchdowns, RB Evan Billar with seven, will unfortunately not be retuning next year due to graduation. For Saint Francis to win they will need their best game of football this season.

Wauwatosa West started the year strong, but ever since their QB Kevin Gorman went down with injury the team has started to struggle accounting for his yards and touchdowns. RB Dylan Crafton has taken much of the offensive load this season carrying the ball 63 times for 444 yards and eight total touchdowns. WR Ray Sterling leads the team for receivers with 400 yards and five touchdowns. The Trojans should not face much problem with Saint Franics and should improve to one game under .500.
